Illinois Registration: 1A and X Freestyle Divisions

from $40.00

This registration is for those interested in competing in 1A Freestyle and/or an X Freestyle Division at the Illinois State Yo-Yo Contest.

The two-day event features Trick Ladder divisions, a compilation of workshops and a pro yo-yo showcase on Saturday, Nov. 8, followed by the 1A, X, Sport Freestyle and Doc Lucky’s Duos division on Sunday, Nov. 9. Kendama trick ladder and freestyle divisions are also available on Saturday.

All competitors must pre-register and check-in at the event in order to compete (registration increases by $10 on Sunday, Nov. 2 and closes Wednesday, Nov. 5). Each competitor will receive:

  • A 2025 Illinois State Yo-Yo Contest event yo-yo

  • One (1) complimentary one-day pass into the Chicago Toy & Game Fair

REGISTER:

  • Select which division you would like to compete in, click “Add Competitor” and complete the pop-up form that appears with information around the person competing.

  • If you are registering more than one person, you will need to complete this process for each competitor.

  • If you are competing in both 1A and an X Freestyle division or multiple X divisions, select the “Multiple 1A or X Divisions” option in the selection so you don’t need to complete the competitor form twice and aren’t overcharged for your registration.

POST-REGISTRATION

Leading up to the event, you will receive communications from event organizers to submit music for your freestyle performance(s) (due Wednesday, Nov. 5) — all music must be pre-cut to 60 seconds for 1A Freestyle Prelims and 2 minutes for 1A Freestyle and X Freestyle Finals; no profanity is allowed. CLICK HERE to submit your song(s).

In order to compete, you must also become a member of the National Yo-Yo League (NYYL) -- they have membership levels from $0-$100+. CLICK HERE to view the options and lock-in your membership.
